Johnny Vegas Going Back To His Stand-Up Roots

Johnny Vegas, a 49 year old most-loved comic actor will be visiting Wicksteed Park on Thursday, May 7, 2020. This will be the final date of his six-leg tour which also takes in Sunderland, Cheltenham, Plymouth, Swindon and Norwich.

Johnny Vegas also starred as Al in some of PG Tips’ advert. He has been a regular in front and behind the camera.

Other notable roles that he had was as Moz the drug dealer in the BBC dark comedy ideal. Also, as Geoff Maltby in the ITV sitcom Benidorm.

Between 1994 and 1997, he became a member of Cluub Zarathustra, a comedy performance group. This group is led by Stewart Lee, Roger Mann and Simon Munnery.

At around 1996, Vegas made his television debut as a contestant of Win, Lose or Draw in the UK. This time he made references to be a comedian with Johnny as his stage name.

Before the programme’s final months, he featured on The Big Breakfast which ended in March 2002.

During 2002, he starred in the BBC Radio 4 sitcom Night Class, which he co-wrote with Tony Burgess and Tony Pitts with Dirk Maggs as the director.

It then became a runner-up for the best comedy at the Sony Radio Academy Awards.

In 2001, Vegas starred as Al in an advert for ITV Digital with Monkey, a puppet voiced by Ben Miller. In 2007, Vegas repriced the role in adverts for PG Tips tea.
