It was revealed that UK Councils are spending an eye-watery figure of £300,000 a year on teas and biscuits.
The highest spender in the country is Lincolnshire County Council which amounted to £16,000 on hot drinks only in a single year as the council does not provide biscuits.
It also came to our attention that the council’s money is spent on PG Tips.
Nigel West, head of democratic services at Lincolnshire County Council, said that drinks machines in their committee rooms are not just for councillors but also for their visitors.
Looks like our favorite tea brand, PG Tips, is the most popular teabag, with 38 councils listing it as their regular choice of tea, followed by Tetley with 31 councils.
